  • Hout Bay has a very pleasant and calm beach, very wide and situated around a bay, protecting you from strong water currents, and sometimes the wind. There’s a fishing harbour and snorkeling or diving trips to Duiker Island leave from here.
  • Camps Bay Beach: the very happening beach of Camps Bay with plenty of bars and restaurants along the beach strip. And the Twelve Apostles just behind your back. Divine.
  • Kommetjie: hardcore wave and wind surfing – the winds are strong here. Caution is advised before heading into the water.
  • Muizenberg: a real walhalla for kite surfers. A very wide beach with kiters as far as the eye reaches. Depending on the weather less experienced surfers can go ahead here as well. And don’t forget to take a picture of the nice coloured beach cabins!

BUT beware: we are in the Atlantic, so keep your wetsuits ready, or be prepared for a very refreshing dive. Only beyond Cape Agulhas, the most southern point of Africa, you come in Indian Ocean waters, which are remarkably warmer.
